P3 Mrs Mack And Miss Hand's Class

Welcome back !

InfoPosted by Mrs Mack Thu, February 22, 2018 01:41PM

Great to see everyone back after a lovely half term break.

The children have completed another Accelerated Reader assessment and their updated reading ranges will be going home today (Thursday). This may mean your child has changed to a different reading group; this is just to ensure all the children are working at the right level. The numeracy groups are also in the process of changing and again this is completely normal and just part of the way we try to support each child. Some children have also moved spelling group and will have a different word list to work on throughout the week.

Homework

It is Numeracy week this week which means there is no yellow book for sentences. The children who have a white mental maths book were not set any mental maths task in their booklets but asked to revise number facts to 20 for a test on Friday. Please continue to ensure your child hands in all homework on a Monday morning, red spelling books should be brought to school every morning to be checked.

Online Safety

Following Internet Safety Day , the children completed various activities about keeping safe online. We had discussions about chatting to people online and the children have all been advised not to send/receive messages from people they do not know. I am hopeful you will support this at home.

World Book Day

Children received their voucher and letter explaining the' Bingo Challenge' yesterday. These can be brought into school next Thursday.

Property

Please ensure your child brings a PE kit on a Monday and Thursday and has all items of clothing (including uniform) clearly labelled. Children are allowed to wear trainers for PE instead of plimsolls.

Many thanks for your continued support smiley

Homework

AnnouncementsPosted by Mrs Mack Mon, January 15, 2018 10:21PM

Welcome back to another new week!

Please ensure your child brings their Homework folder to school on a Monday with everything ready to hand in, it is so important the children are well prepared and organised.

The class have been given their new Numeracy Booklets today and as usual are to complete 2 pages for next Monday. As it is a Numeracy Week children do not need to write sentences for their spellings.

Spellings this week are from List 16 and are based on the letter o with 'Magic E' .

Mental Maths is -13 or the next page in the Red Mental Maths book depending on your child's group.

Children should record their 2 reading books from school but please feel free to record any additional reading from home.

We are continuing to work on money this week. It would be helpful to spend some time checking your child can recognise all the coins to £1 and try to make different amounts using the coins.

Children have been told which of the optional clubs they are in after school on Tuesday and Friday.

Thanks for your continued support smiley
