The children continued to focus on their running skills this morning. Damien had the children thinking about what body parts they use whilst running and discussed that they use bent legs, arms, eyes and feet. Spatial awareness is very important for these running sessions especially when Damien controls the speed using a whistle, i.e. 1 blow means walking, 2 blows means jogging and 3 blows means sprinting.
The session finished with a game - sharks and islands. It was a great way to reinforce the importance of balance and spatial awareness when running.
Well done to the players of the week: Lauren and Sean! :-)
