Length

ActivitiesPosted by Mrs Kennedy Mon, October 23, 2017 10:25AM
For numeracy today, we were recapping on our same as, longer and shorter knowledge. We were looking at our foot size. We were working in partners to draw around each others foot, before colouring it in for display. We did lots of discussion afterwards about who had a longer or shorter foot print.

These children were able to find someone with a footprint shorter than theirs:

Damian Day!

ActivitiesPosted by Mrs Kennedy Mon, October 23, 2017 10:03AM
After being off last Monday, we were really pleased to have Damian back with us today! We were playing some different Halloween games and pretending to be different characters, such as zombies, scary ghosts or cackling witches. This was great fun!
Afterwards, we moved around like what we are going to dress up as for Halloween. Damian had to guess what we were!

Before we ended our session, we played 'ghost tag'. When the ghost catches you, they scare you and you have to freeze on the spot. This means we couldn't move for 15 seconds before we were allowed back in.

Our star players were Darren and Lauren. Well done!

Shape houses

ActivitiesPosted by Mrs Kennedy Thu, October 19, 2017 05:03PM
Today during Active a Learning, we were using 3D sponges to print shape houses linked to our topic. We talked lots about the different 2D shapes that were printed from the 3D sponges. For example, a cube made a square print and a cylinder was able to make a circle print. We used smaller sponges to add detail to our houses, such as windows and doors. Some of us got a bit carried away with printing and forgot to make a house shape. Tomorrow we will be writing a sentence about our art work for display.

Set your imagination free

ActivitiesPosted by Mrs Kennedy Thu, October 19, 2017 04:58PM
Last week we were taking part in a whole school art competition. It is based on using our imagination and we were allowed to colour and draw whatever came into our heads. We had some great ideas, such as rainbows, hearts, princesses, animals, pumpkins, cars and our family. Here you can see us making a really good start at our pictures.
