P2 Mrs Kennedy's Class

A work of art.

ActivitiesPosted by Mrs Kennedy Thu, February 22, 2018 02:39PM
The children created beautiful art work today in school. They started off by painting a paper plate blue. Then they drew, coloured and cut out a fish to stick on the 'fish tank'. The children cut green tissue paper into strips to resemble sea weed or coral. To create the pebbles, we used crumpled up paper towels, dipped it in colourful paint and printed it on the fish tank.

Spiderman - skipping with high swinging arms
Batman - fighting pose
Captain America - roll across the floor and throw the shield.

Well done to the star players this week: Reese and Mason! :-)

Bird feeders!

ActivitiesPosted by Mrs Kennedy Tue, February 13, 2018 04:29PM
Yesterday and today, the class have been making bird feeders. The children worked very hard to complete this tricky project. Lollipop sticks were pva glued together for the base of the feeder, then stacked them on top of the other to build the 'wall'. Today we mixed sunflower seeds, raisins, cheerios, grated cheese and lard together to create the bird food fat balls. It was very messy but worth it! Have a great half term everyone!

RSPB visitor

ActivitiesPosted by Mrs Kennedy Wed, February 07, 2018 08:36AM
Yesterday, P2 had a special visitor in the classroom as part of our birds topic. Catherine from the RSPB came in to talk about the appearance and sounds of different birds in the UK. We then went outside for 'the big bird watch' to listen to the sounds of the birds and use binoculars to spot them. Catherine was so impressed with the children's prior knowledge on birds!

Damien day!

ActivitiesPosted by Mrs Kennedy Mon, February 05, 2018 10:02AM
Today the children were practicing running in different ways. Damien set up relay teams to reinforce sprinting from one end of the assembly hall to the other. The children had to touch the cone during their sprint to practice changing directions.
A new technique the class learned today was a zig-zag run. Olivia Mc did a fantastic job at demonstrating this new technique!

Well done to the star players this week: Vikram and Darren :-)
