Clare was with us for the last time on Tuesday. She introduced us to gravity!
She was able to swing an egg in a glass of water around her head without it falling out.
Some children had a turn with a toy chicken but weren't very successful.
Myla helped Clare to keep the beach ball up in the air with a leaf blower.
Felicity helped to hold the toilet roll on the stick while Clare blew the air over the top of the roll and all the paper rolled out.
Aya and Leo did an experiment. They put a vitamin tablet and a little water in an old film container. They turned it upsidedown and stood back. The lid exploded off with a bang.
We had great fun with Clare and the children learned a lot of new language.

The children have been revising the language of measure. This group were matching the right size of snakes to the ones on their cards.
This group were filling bottles until they were full and half full.
This group were working with Kathleen to find the cards that matched.
Natasha's group were building towers that were taller than themselves.
The children at the yellow tables were making long and short sausages and thick and thin snowmen.
These activities all help to promote good language skills.

Well done boys and girls. Some children know 60 words already which is excellent.
Some other children don't know that many, but it's very good to get all you words correct no matter how many you have.

Clare the party professor will be in our class for three sessions. She will be doing some science experiments and the children will be participating. Yesterday we were learning about how sound travels through the air and water.
Clare used a tuning fork to make the water ripple.
Amelia could hear the sound through the wire and string.
The children got a chance to play tunes on their water whistle.
Clare put little bolts inside the balloons. The children moved the balloons to get the bolt moving and they felt the vibrations through the balloons.
The plastic tubes made humming sounds when they were swung around.
The children loved the excitement. Two more weeks to go.

What a great evening we had in school yesterday. I was surrounded by a very well behaved bunch of children. We watched a lovely movie called Arthur Christmas. The children all had some sweets in with them and they were just very good.
