Shared Education

EventsPosted by Mrs Allen Wed, May 02, 2018 02:56PM

On Wednesday 25th April the P1 children from Parkhall Primary school came to our school to join in a Shared Education project.

The children had three tasks to complete. They worked with a child from Parkhall and had great fun on the scavenger hunt outside in the Playgroup garden.

Afterwards we came into class and practised a makaton song about the Julia Donaldson song Monkey Puzzle. The children then did lots of role play in the classroom with their new friends.

We look forward to going to Parkhall primary on 25th May to work in their school.

On 16th May we hope to have some fun at the Castle grounds where we will play games and have a picnic lunch.

This morning P1 were dramatizing the story about David the shepherd boy who grew up to be the King. We learned how King Saul was so jealous of him that he wanted to kill him. David could have killed King Saul twice but he didn't.

Signs of spring

ActivitiesPosted by Mrs Allen Mon, March 26, 2018 04:20PM

Our class were out in the school grounds with a survey to complete, on a clipboard.

They had to find daffodils, crocus, primroses and buds on trees. We found lots of signs of spring. I hope the adults liked the children's Easter cards that they made completely on their own. I thought they were amazing. I hope you all have a lovely Easter holiday.

Jesus on the cross

ActivitiesPosted by Mrs Allen Wed, March 14, 2018 04:24PM

It was our turn again to take assembly. The children were very excited about this particular one as it was a bit gory!

We were telling the story of The Crucifixion.

The disciples going to pray with Jesus in the garden.

The soldiers coming to capture Jesus and take him away.

Simon Peter denying that he knew Jesus. The rooster crowing 3 times.

The priests shouting Crucify Him.

Simon of Cyrene carrying the cross for Jesus.

Jesus being nailed on the cross. We were very gentle with the real hammer and nails though.

We are looking forward to hearing the happy part of the story next week in assembly.
