Class Representatives

AnnouncementsPosted by Miss Hamilton Wed, September 20, 2017 10:55PM

After listening to numerous speeches of good quality, asking questions and voting democratically, P7 have elected four representatives to share their views and ideas within the ECO Council and School Council groups. Our two ECO reps are Erin and James - congratulations!

The two School Council reps are Emma and Dan. They have already attended their first meeting and undertaken some other work such as designing factfiles and timetables.

Literacy in P7

ActivitiesPosted by Miss Hamilton Wed, September 13, 2017 11:11PM

Over the past fortnight, we have been learning about hurricanes as part of our work on "USA." We learnt about how hurricanes form, read and wrote poems based on hurricanes and viewed online footage of both hurricane Harvey and hurricane Irma as they made landfall in Texas, Louisiana and Florida. Today, we looked at newspaper reports detailing the aftermath of hurricane Irma in Florida and selected key information to explain the numerous problems that this state now faces. We had the tricky task of prioritizing the issues with a talk partner and deciding which problems should be tackled first. Some fascinating discussions took place with some excellent reasons and opinions being shared in the written task which followed. I was very impressed with the standard shown throughout this activity - well done and keep up the great work!

Here are Cavan & Steven, Roxan, Erin & Callum and Abbie & Julia reading and selecting relevant information from the newspaper article to use in their discussions:

Self Portraits with a Difference

ActivitiesPosted by Miss Hamilton Wed, September 13, 2017 10:56PM

P7 combined their ICT and art skills to create digital split self portraits. A digital photo was taken, cropped and resized and then cut in half. Students then had the task of drawing in their features to create a full picture. The pictures make a striking display on the key stage 2 stairwell. Thank you to Mrs. Mack and Mrs. Allen for sharing their skills with the art part of this activity.

Holly, Dan and some other P7 students as you have never seen them before!
