Today 6 children from our class were picked to join Ballycraigy at the Antrim Festival boat race. It was held in the Lough Shore Park. We brought our dragon along with us and showed our lion dance to the audience, they loved it. There was also a few real Chinese dragons there for us to see.

Dragon Dance Project!

EventsPosted by Miss McFetridge Tue, March 31, 2015 08:45AM

Last Tuesday, P6/7 went to the Old Courthouse in Antrim with Ballycraigy Primary School to take part in the Dragon Dance Project. They learned all about the Lion and Dragon dances and were able to dance with a real Chinese Unicorn Dragon. They got to dance with their own dragon that they had made and learn all the proper steps to the dance. All the children behaved brilliantly and had a really great time! To top it all off they even had chinese food as a treat before coming back to school! :)

Our class are very lucky as they have the opportunity to take part in Antrim's Dragon Dance Project. It takes place on Tuesday 24th at 10:00 at the courthouse.
For this event we had to make a Chinese dragon to take with us, on Tuesday 8 children will take part in the event.
This is our dragon so far, we're not finished just yet!
