Learning SupportPosted by Learning Support Sun, January 18, 2015 10:37AM
Welcome to Learning Support. My name is Miss Hand and I am the current support teacher. I took over from Mrs Hill in September 2014 and I have had the most amazing first term with all the different groups of children.
Currently our week consists of:
Behavioural and Sensory support
Big Cat Phonics
Fine Motor and handwriting support
Literacy and Numeracy support
All years groups are supported and each child has targets to work towards.
At present in Term Two all the children, teachers and I are working hard to achieve each target as our review of progress takes place in February/March.
I can't wait to see what a new term will bring.Well Done
to all the Learning Support groups and thank you to all the teachers for their hard work and support. :)
(Look out for photographs soon!)

Thankyou to all the parents who attended the Signature Project Meeting on 1st September 2014. The pupils have settled in really well to their groups and are trying hard to achieve their targets.
The targets will be reviewed at Hallowe'en and after this I will arrange a meeting to discuss your child's progress.

Parents of pupils involved in the Signature Project will be informed of their child's new targets at Parent/Teacher Interviews (3rd-7th March). It is important that parents are aware of what their child's targets are. These targets will be for March and April. They will then be reviewed and Mrs Murray will arrange a Parent/Teacher meeting in May to discuss the child's progress.

Mrs Murray is seconded for two years to lead the Signature Project. This is an initiative aimed at improving pupils' Literacy and Numeracy skills. The project is aimed at P.6 and P.7 pupils. The pupils are all enjoying the extra support and particularly enjoy working in the small groups.
