The polytunnel

Eco AnnouncementsPosted by Mrs Allen Wed, April 05, 2017 04:26PM

Thank you very much to Sammy and Paul Kirkpatrick (Charlie and Jack's dad) who have been working at the floor of the polytunnel all day. It was a big job and Sammy needed some help. Paul was able to go and collect ready mixed concrete with his van and trailer.

Soon we will be able to start planting our flowers, fruit and vegetables. We are all looking forward to taking turns to work in the polytunnel.

Exciting News

Eco AnnouncementsPosted by Mrs Duggan Wed, February 08, 2017 08:56PM
Today was a very exciting day for our school as we got to see our polytunnel being installed. The polytunnel was manufactured and made by Gillespie Polytunnels Co Donegal. Dean and his team worked very hard all day to get it all set up for us, they even gave us some tips on what to grow. Dean showed us pictures of a huge pumpkin his son had grown. Check out their Facebook page for some ideas on what your class could grow.

We will be getting the floor put down and filling the planters with soil very soon watch this space!!!!

We hope to see lots of butterflies very soon!We had to dig big holes it was hard work in the hot sun!We planted:
Buddleja
Lithodora Diffusa
Sedum
Clematis
Hebe
Thank you to Sammy for his hard work. He had to do lots of digging to get the soil prepared for us!

Congratulations Round Tower, we have achieved our second GREEN FLAG! On Wednesday 30th April we had two special visitors in our school. They met with the Eco Committee and went on a tour of the school. They were very impressed with the children in the Eco Committee and loved our 'whole school approach'. They loved all the little green footprints in the assembly hall. Well done everyone you should be very proud of our school!I know I am! smiley
